Multiethnic Cultural Center hosts its third cultural presentation as a part of the ongoing series of cultural evenings ‘Changing World, Changing Neighborhoods’ on April 7, 2011

LYNN, MASSACHUSETTS – March 14, 2011 – Bosnian Community Center for Resource Development’s (BCCRD, Inc.) Multiethnic Cultural Center (MECC) will host its third cultural presentation on April 7, 2011 in Lynn, Massachusetts. The event, a part of the ongoing series of cultural evenings Changing World, Changing Neighborhoods, will be dedicated to Somalia, and it will feature classical and contemporary Somali music, native food, and the presentation on Somali history, culture and customs. After the presentation, the guests will have the chance to have a conversation with the presenter Ms. Samar Duale, as well as other social service providers and community members.

The cultural presentations in the series of Changing World, Changing Neighborhoods aim to help community members and social service providers understand the history, culture, and skills of local refugee populations. With the greater insight into existing client’s experiences, perceptions, and customs, community organizations can more effectively provider services to the North Shore’s diversifying population.

Bosnian Community Center for Resource Development (BCCRD, Inc.) starts a Multiethnic Cultural Center in Lynn, Massachusetts

LYNN, MASSACHUSETTS – January 1, 2011 – Bosnian Community Center for Resource Development (BCCRD, Inc.), has started a Multiethnic Cultural Center in January of this year. This inter-cultural art program will feature culture, heritage and specific skills of the refugee groups it serves, and will allow the broad immigrant community to explore cultural diversity, create multicultural awareness and expose audiences to novel perspectives.

In the Multiethnic Cultural Center, the refugees and others will be able to share their experiences and skills, preserve and express their indigenous culture, learn skills that will empower and educate them, and build constructive and meaningful connections with the “outside world.”

The center will hold regular folk dancing performances and art exhibition in Greater Boston area. The first such event will be held in May of this year in Lynn, Massachusetts.
